A woodcut panel depicts a self portrait of the artist. Small cuts cover the right hand side of the image, and fluid lines define the features on the figure's face. The right hand touching the figure's cheek, and the left hand clasped round the right wrist.

A woodcut panel shows a depiction of the artist. The artist has carved the outline of the form into the wood, and used black and white pigments to build in shadow and highlight, particularly on the hands. The right hand touching the figure's cheek, and the left hand clasped round the right wrist.
